I was scrolling on my Facebook page today 1/3/25 when I saw you listed as a suggested friend. I sent a friend request then scrolled down only to see you had left this earth just 6 days ago. I was deeply saddened for your children & grandchildren. Had I known, I would be at your homegoing today sharing stories of your goodness. You are a treasure Tom. It was a privilege working with you. You were like a mentor to me when I worked at NAI. I would often go get your lunch & in return you would buy me lunch. I remember how happy you were when Mckenna was born and enjoyed hearing you talk about her and (I believe) Brayden. I was familiar with your medication & your eppi-pen & was on standby to help save your life at work if you ever needed assistance. You would often let me get my feet wet & work on projects with you to better understand the business. One in particular was the Valley Fair property in Irvington, NJ. I knew the politicians there and helped you find available locations less than 2 turns to the major highways. You won that deal and although you didn't give me a finder's fee you gave me something greater. You advised me & my ex-husband when I was having marital problems & when it came to my career. You even offered to co-sign for a home for me & my 3 children when I was on the verge of a divorce. You let my daughter call you uncle when she visited the office and gave her little treats. You were always my best go to reference person until I found my dream career. You also offered to have your son Corey help me invest my inheritance when my mom passed away so I could take care of my children. It was truly a blessing to have known you. I am so sorry for your family's loss. If they are reading this, I would like to reassure them that although you are no longer here physically, you are still with them, cheering them on like you did when you were here. You will forever be their biggest cheerleader & guardian angel. Helping them navigate through the world. No more suffering, no more pain. Rest easy Tom. Hope to see you again my friend when it's my time, but no time soon. I want to enjoy my grandchildren for many years like you did.

When I first moved to the area just a couple of years ago and became Tom's neighbor, he so kindly welcomed me. He made sure that I was included in all events and activities in our community and gave me helpful names and phone numbers for trades in Morristown.
It's already strange that he's not here...
May he rest in peace - he was a special guy.

CHARLES BATTLE posted a condolence

TR and I have been friends since 2nd grade at St. Thomas grammar school. We spent many hours together and shared many laughs and beers during our high school and college days. We were together so much that we double dated often and at one point dated girls with the same first name.
As you all know, Tom was a poet and I believe his career was just beginning when he wrote a memorable poem to my wife Barbara and I as First Man at our wedding in 1971. What you may not know was that Tom was the pitcher on our Bishop Kearney softball team during our ill fated beer ball games against our arch rival, McQuaid Jesuit led by Rick Eberhardt. There was beer and laughs galore at those games, much to the dismay of the BK squad.
I will miss you "Old Pal". Rest in Peace, until we meet again.
Your "Old Pal" Charlie Battle

My memories of TR are mostly Bishop Kearney High School and the summers of college. Tom made those years the best ever as we shared more than a few beers together and he always kept me laughing. Even at our 50-year high school reunion, he had me in stitches. “TR – how did you convince people to give you those loans for golf courses”. “Easy Gorm – just lay down a little more BS than the other guys”. Very fond memories of my good friend. I’d like to say rest in peace, but he’s probably already got some scheme going on up in heaven. At least now I’ve got someone on the inside. Attached is a photo that he sent me several months ago from the 50th with Charlie Battle, Daryl Pollard and me.

Our heart felt sympathy on the loss of your father. We have many fond memories of Tom at our family reunions in Wisonsin Dells. He was the life of the party with his jokes and story telling. In addition to that a great guy in so many ways.
Prayers and Love.
