Though Christine's editorial tenure at the "IMP" pre-dated my membership in IMPA, I know and think highly of the husband she leaves behind and am honored to express my condolences to Angus and the rest of Laidlaw clan. To those of us who never got to know her but worked frequently with her successors, Christine's obit effectively conveys that the high standards current IMPACT contributors try to live up to originated on her watch. In an electronic age dominated by bloggers who can barely spell let alone write, her unique poet's sensibility will inspires anyone who strives to do better.

I want you to know Chris was someone who made a difference in my life. She always made me feel welcome; always had time for tea and conversation, or would put out an extra plate and insist I stay for dinner. She will be missed, and my heart goes out to you for your loss.

Dearest Family; Chris is greatly loved in our hearts and this is the place we will remember her love of art, history and having fun. Nicole sends words of love.Whenever she thinks or sees a van Gogh painting, she will always remember the special day she held hands with Chris and learned all about his painting. You touched our lives. I am so thankful to have wonderful people who love my children as their own. All our love. Vincent, Carol, Tori and Nicole.

To Angus – also Kenzie, Christie, your loving spouses and children and all others who knew and loved Chris – our hearts go out to you at this sad time. Saying farewell to Chris – the universe seems somehow foreshortened and less bright without her in it. A haiku for Chris: waving from a topless red sports car the white-haired lady Our love to you all, Jaxon and Arlene, the "Technicals"

Please accept my sincere sympathy for the loss of Christine. As a member of the Montclair Historical Society Book Club I had the pleasure of knowing her and sharing time and thoughts with her at a number of meetings in the last two years. She had a unique style and warmth which created the very best atmosphere of sharing. Always willing to give more and lead us with grace and dignity, Christine will be greatly missed. Having met Angus as well I send my special thoughts and prayers to him and to their children and grandchildren in memory of their treasured lives together.
