Obituary of Clayton Vernon Bauer

Clayton Vernon Bauer Jr Chip Bauer was born in Orange, NJ and was 60 years old when he passed on May 23, 2019 after a courageous battle with COPD. He leaves his wife Gabriella, a son Michael and his three siblings, Mallory, Beth and Merryl. He was raised in Verona and was a graduate of Verona High School. Chip worked at St Barnabas for the past 26 years and has lived in Montclair since 2001. His passion was skiing double diamond mountains which he did so well that it looked easy. Chip and Gabriella Bauer were married on the beach in Negril, Jamaica on July 21, 1992. They are blessed with a son Michael Clayton Bauer who was born on August 26,1995. Chip was an amazing dancer, creatively funny, mechanically clever and a very involved parishioner and usher at St James Church. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. at St James Episcopal Church, 581 Valley Road, Montclair on June 4th.  

Chip had a special place in his heart for homeless and abused animals. In his name donations may be made to:
