Obituary of Bela Wittmann

Wittmann, Bela, 88, of Montclair passed away peacefully on February 2, 2019, in his home with his wife of 62 years, Ilona, daughter Ilona and son Thomas by his side.

Bela was born in Zirc, Hungary and escaped in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution, with his wife Ilona Kaman.

He went on to study Mechanical Engineering at The Newark College of Engineering and graduated with a Master’s Degree.

He was always kind, caring and a true gentleman who always had a smile on his face.

He is survived by his wife Ilona, daughter Ilona, son Thomas (Emily Zigarelli); granddaughers Madie, Juli and Sami; his sister Maria (Sandor Gyure); nephews Micky and George and pups Mario and Bodhi.  Visitors will be received at the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park Street Montclair on Tuesday from 5-8PM.  Interment will be on Wednesday at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave. East Hanover, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s  Association www.alz.org.
