Obituary of Elizabeth Freeman

Elizabeth B. Freeman, 99 died February 16, 2012 in Cedar Grove, NJ. Born and raised in Manchester, NH, she taught school in New Hampshire for over 20 years. She earned her Ph.D. from Boston University in 1956 and then taught at Boston University before moving to Montclair, NJ in 1958 when she became the Supervisor of Language Arts program for the Montclair Public School District, retiring in 1980. Surviving are her two sons, Joseph Speidel of Cedar Grove, NJ and William Speidel of Nutley, NJ, 5 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be at the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park Street, Montclair, NJ on Monday, February 20th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Montclair at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 21st. A private interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair, NJ.
