Sullivan, John J., 86, of Montclair died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, August 14, 2015. He was born in Manhattan, lived many years in Hoboken and moved to Montclair with his family in 1961. He was graduated from NYU in 1960, attending night class from 1955-1960 and earned a BS degree in Business and Finance. He was with Interchemical Corp. in NYC and in 1977 joined the Research Dept. with McGraw Hill Co. until 1992. Upon retirement, he worked at Lacordaire Academy as a Business Manager until 2007. John was a parishioner of St. Cassian Church in Upper Montclair. He enjoyed reading and hiking. He loved the time spent with his family. He served in the Korean War from 1950-1952. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helene (nee Willenborg), four children, Barbara Senior and husband Bill of Clifton, Patricia M. Sullivan of Montclair, Richard and wife Debbie of Verona, John and wife Cynthia of Randolph. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Timothy and Patty Ann Senior, Remy and Julianne Sullivan and Sean and Connor Sullivan.
