In all things, devotion first and foremost to her beloved Edward. A consistency which brought such peace and stability into our home, all originating from Mother's love for her husband. My mother's generation was called the greatest generation. I believe that transcends acts of heroism and learning to live with less. My mother's relationship with my dad was something of a story book, and I feel qualities of a past generation.
Love notes left through the house.

Always a freshening and changed outfit to greet her husband off the #33 Decamp.
There seemed to be an essence which surrounded my mother in her love, loyalty and friendship in marriage. It is hard to pinpoint, but easy to understand. Best friends. Entirely at peace with her relationship, and minimal need for outside distractions. My mother's smile and tenderness's for her Eddie. This all seemed to go beyond "love". Witnessing my mother's relationship with dad was the best teaching we children could have asked for.
