Obituary of Francis O'Sullivan

A life well - lived, Frank will never be forgotten. Francis (Frank) Xavier O'Sullivan Jr., 80, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2014 at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born in Newark, NJ and his early years were spent in Bloomfield. He attended St.Thomas the Apostle elementary school and briefly lived in Cedar Grove while attending college. He settled in Bloomfield at age 30 for the remainder of his life. He graduated from Seton Hall Preparatory in 1952 and Fordham University in 1958. Frank graduated from Fordham Law School in 1963 and practiced law in New York and New Jersey. He never completely retired from law and would always provide legal counsel to anyone who sought advice. His first job was at New Jersey Bell where he made lifelong friends with his sharp wit and his love of telling jokes. He was an avid NY Jets fan and he always had hope they would make it to the Super Bowl. Frank enjoyed spending time with friends and family, being a "Pipa", and traveling to Ireland. He was an honest and hardworking man who loved his family dearly and always helped people in need. Surviving are his beloved wife of 49 years, Nuala; six loving children, John(Kelly), Eileen, Katherine(Bennett), Kevin(Kimberly), Maureen and Jennifer. Five adored grandchildren, Christine(Brian), Kara, Andrew, Meghan and Kaitlyn. Also survived by his great-grandchild James Horner. Frank is also survived by his sister Margaret Cronin, brothers James, Thomas and Robert. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his dear friends Timothy O'Sullivan and Thomas Slattery. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Francis X. Sr. and Julia O'Sullivan, brothers Eugene and William.
