Obituary of Gerlinde Franciose

Gerlinde James Franciose, 87, passed away, Thursday morning, January 30, 2014 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. She was born in Glen Ridge, NJ to the late Leslie James and Gerlinde Frieda Kate Elizabeth VonGoebon. We all feel so blessed and thankful to have known and been loved by such a sweet, gentle, kind, beautiful lady. Family and friends always came first... Then her dogs, birds, flowers and chocolate chip cookies! Her warm smile, wry sense of humor, kind comforting words of wisdom and loving presence will be dearly missed. We know Nana is at peace and will always be in our hearts. Mrs. Franciose is survived by her children, James R. Franciose & wife Deborah of Woodland Park, NJ, Gerlinde "Lindy" Franciose & husband Gilbert J. Fortier of Wake Forest and Nicholas S. Franciose & wife Glenna M. Griffin of Cary, NC; sister-in-law, Sara James of Stevensville, MD and Lois DeFrancesco of Scotch Plains, NJ; grandchildren, Jocelyn Franciose & Fiancé Peter Murphy of Glen Ridge, NJ, Justin Franciose & wife Jill of Upper Montclair, NJ; Daniel E. Wertz, III of Newport Beach, CA, Gerlinde Lauren Wertz of Santa Barbara, CA, Bailey Franciose Jones & husband Nate of Raleigh, NC, Nicholas M. Franciose II of Delray Beach, FL, Griffin Paul Thomas of Cary, NC, and Reaghan Leigh Griffin of Cary, NC; great-grandchildren, Olivia Murphy and Tosh & Lilly Jones; beloved K-9 companion, Sparky, Skippy and Bach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Michael Franciose; siblings, Leslie, Henry, Havelock and Robert.
