Kathy, I can't believe you've left us. You were one of my dearest friends and one of the few I've known for 40 years. I will miss our long conversations, your lovely laughter, and your terrific sense of humor. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Kathy and I became friends at first sight at the R.R. Bowker Company forty years ago. I well remember when she started dating Bob. She came in one morning with extra stars in her eyes. "I met a guy named Bob," she said. "I'm keeping him."
Years passed. We lost track of each other, but she was marvelous at finding me again. Lately, we'd been FB pals. "Gotta make dinner," she wrote at the end of our first IM session. "Bob will be home in a bit." "Same Bob?" I teased. "Yup. Told you I was keeping him."
And so yesterday morning, came the last of the Facebook postings. Goodbye, my dear. I will miss you forever.

Kathy's my second cousin, and is almost exactly my age. I've spent my whole life with Kathy and her whole family in my life, and it is such a shock and a surprise to have her leave, and, from my point of view, so suddenly. She's the first of my generation of close relatives to leave, and she's left a hole that's mighty hard to fill. I never got to know Bob well, but I wish him only the very best. Very sad. Phil

We met Kathy and Bob when we first moved to The Lord Essex Apartments. Kathy was in love with my children, and my children were equally fond of her. We enjoyed every minute we shared with Kathy. We will miss the sunny afternoons in the courtyard with the kids. We pray that her soul rests in peace, and that God gives Bob, and the rest of her family the strength to get through this tough time. See you on the other side Kathy.
