Obituary of Sara Siebert
Please share a memory of Sara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sara Philhower Siebert passed away at the age of xx. She was a pioneer in the women's movement to get into the job work force. In World War Two she was asked to monitor the water processing at a water supply plant in North Carolina while the men were at war. Later when she was in her
forties she went back to college to finish her B.S. in chemistry at Farleigh Dickinson University. Then after her husband, Henry Edward Siebert died in 1969 she went on to get her "Masters" at Rutgers University in Air pollution. In the early 70's she went to work for Public Service Electric and Gas as a liaison between the company and the state government. She worked there fifteen years, supporting her family. Retired at the age of sixty five, she turned to volunteer work, at Meals on Wheels and The Crane House in Montclair. She is survived by her three sons, Kip, Steve and Scott. One Granddaughter, Sandra Seeger and two grandsons, Joshua and Eli. Also two great-grand children Cory and Tyler Seeger. She was the epitome of someone who no mater what medical or physical problems she had, she kept her spirits high. She will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions to any animal society would be her greatest wish.
