Obituary of Ruth Holland

Ruth C. Holland (nee Ruth Ann Cherry), 72, of Cary, NC (formerly of Upper Montclair, NJ) passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2013. Mrs. Holland was born in Horse Cave, KY on September 9, 1940 and attended Kentucky Wesleyan College. She worked in real estate administration for most of her career and had previously been the Executive Officer of the Montclair Board of Realtors. She married Martin Holland in 1960 and resided in Upper Montclair for over 40 years, where she and her late husband had been active in the Commonwealth Club and the 200 Club. They were also members of St. James Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Holland; brothers, Wendell and Douglas Cherry, and parents, L.S. and Geneva Spillman Cherry. Surviving are her sister, Sue Ellen Lloyd and husband, Vanous, of Bowling Green, KY; a brother, L.S. Cherry Jr. and wife Sheila, of Alvaton, KY; sons, Taylor Holland and wife Renee, of Grosse Pointe, Mich., and Glenn Holland and wife, Sandra, of Cary, NC as well as four grandsons: Seamus, Cormac, Aidan, and Stefan.
