Obituary of James Richard Lindroth

James R. Lindroth, 88 years old, passed away on August 10, 2021 in Caldwell, New Jersey.

The funeral service will be held at Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park Street, Montclair, New Jersey on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

James R. Lindroth was born on August 12, 1932 in Shawano, Wisconsin to Emil and Clara Lindroth. He went on to earn a B.A. and M.A. degree in English from Marquette University and a Ph.D. in English from New York University and was a professor of English at Seton Hall University for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Colette Lindroth of Caldwell, N.J., his daughters Mary Claire Lindroth of Caldwell, New Jersey and Melissa Zusi of Centennial, Colorado, his son-in-law, Michael Zusi, and his three grandsons, Sean, Scott and Sawyer Zusi of Centennial, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Genevieve Lindroth.

James was an avid reader and movie fan and, together with his wife of over 60 years, spent most of his time visiting the bookstores, movie theaters, museums, concert halls, and Broadway theaters of New York City.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution to a theater, dance or classical music organization may be made.
