Kathleen Richards

On April 19, 2021, Kathleen Patricia Richards passed away at age 76 in Rochester, New York, where she has lived for the past 4 years.

Kathleen was born in 1945, in Grenada. She moved to the United States in 1967. She lived the majority of her life in Montclair, where she raised her son Patrick Richards, who attended Montclair public schools and MKA High School. In 2017, she moved to Rochester, NY to live with her son and grandsons.

Kathleen loved to sew and bake for her friends and family, and was known for baking fruitcakes during the holidays. Kathleen retired from her work at Mountainside Hospital after 32 years of dedicated service. She was an active member of St. Luke’s Church over several decades, involved in their volunteer activities. She was a kind and generous friend and community member, and proud mother and grandmother. Kathleen is survived by her son Patrick Richards and grandsons Preston (13) and Savien (16) Richards; and by her siblings Rolda, Elton and Cyril.

Kathleen will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.

A viewing and small service for family and friends will be held at Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park Street, Montclair, NJ, on Saturday, May 1, 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The service will also be livestreamed due to COVID.
