Obituary of Luke Walsh

Luke E. Walsh (95), of Caldwell, NJ, formerly from Montclair, East Orange, and West Orange, died on February 21st. Beloved husband of Margaret (Nee Keaney) Walsh, devoted father of James J. and Kathryn A. Inge, grandfather to Ian, Devin, Ryan, Courtney, and Michael, and great-grandfather to Luke, Ceyda, Luan, Zander, Keira, and Olivia. Due to Covid-19, mass and services to be held at a later date. Private interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair, NJ. Arrangements by Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home. Condolences to be read by family can be sent to LukeWalshNJ@gmail.com  

Luke E. Walsh (95) was the owner of The Luke E. Walsh Agency of Roseland, NJ and later consultant to the Blum-Walsh Group of Somerset, NJ. Luke served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. He attended Seton Hall University, was a State Farm agent, past President of the East Orange Chamber of Commerce, the Essex County Independent Insurance Agents, the Roseland Rotary Club, served on the Summit Bank Advisory Board, the East Orange Salvation Army Board, the Independent Insurance Agents of NJ Board, the West Essex Chamber of Commerce Board, honorary member of the Montclair Knights of Columbus Council 1272 and the 4th Degree Isaac Jogues Council, and a member of the Essex Fells Country Club. 

Luke was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Nee Keaney), and his son, James J. Surviving are his daughter, Kathryn A. Inge,  and two sisters, Sister Emily Walsh and Catherine Mallon.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Immaculate Conception High School, 33 Cottage Place Montclair, NJ 07042 or to The Wounded Warrior Project.
