Obituary of Carolyn Clarke

Carolyn A. Clarke, 89, passed away at her home on May3, 2012. Her ashes will be interred in Brookside Cemetery in Watertown, NY. She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Philip W. Clarke, a sister Barbara E. Amos of Watertown, NY and four cousins, three residing in Florida and one in New Jersey. Mrs. Clarke served her country during WWII as a US Navy WAVE officer in Washington, D.C., after graduating from Mount Holyoke in 1944. In 1947 she married Philip W. Clarke and beginning in 1952 resided in Montclair, NJ. She became very active in the Union Congregational Church Woman's Guild as well as in the Woman's Club of Upper Montclair, and The Montclair Dramatic Club. There will be a memorial service for Mrs. Clarke at Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Avenue Upper Montclair, NJ at 11 AM on Saturday May 26, 2012. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Union Congregational Church would be appreciated.
