Obituary of Ann Pamela Skinner

Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ann Pamela Skinner (Pam) was born on October 18, 1954 in Glen Ridge NJ, the daughter of George Zirk (Judd) and Doris Lennon Zirk (Dory). She and her twin sister Patricia Zirk Henke (Trish) were the youngest of four siblings. After growing up in Lima, Peru for their first seven years, the family returned back to North Caldwell, NJ.

Upon graduation from West Essex HS in 1972, Pam attended the University of Vermont majoring in English. She would later finish her degree at Seton Hall University. Between then, she married her high school sweetheart Robert C. Skinner Jr. (Bob) and the two had twin boys Robert C. Skinner III (Bobby) and Wade H. Skinner.

A devoted mother and wife, Pam was very involved in the Essex Fells N,J community, leading initiatives in the Garden Club and the PTA. She also worked as a merchandiser for Bloomingdale’s at the Short Hills Mall. With her compassion and self-deprecating humor, Pam had the ability to make anyone feel comfortable in her presence. She was an incredibly warm and loving person.

Pam passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2017. She is survived by her eldest son Bobby Skinner III and sisters Trish Henke and Suzanne Zirk, along with several loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Wade Skinner.

The service will be held at Our Lady-Blessed Sacrament Church, 28 Livingston Ave, Roseland at 11:00am on Friday, November 3, 2017.
