Doris Ann Sozek of Montclair NJ passed away on October 1, 2017, after a long and wonderful life.

 

 She is survived by three children, Greg Sozek of NJ, Michael Sozek and his wife Maryann Morris of VT and Kevin Sozek of FL, her sister Audrey Krommenhoek of NY and nephew Rod Krommenhoek.

Doris was born May 12, 1929, in Jersey City to Raymond Freeh and Marie Walsh. Doris married George Edward Sozek in 1955. She was a graduate of Lincoln H.S in 1947 and she received an Associate’s degree from The Pace School in 1951.  Later, after her children finished college she went back to school attending Montclair State University and graduating in 1990 with a BA in Geography and Women’s Studies. Doris was very involved in the Montclair College Women’s Club, Naranon of NJ and was a long time member and former president of the Verona Garden Club. Donations accepted to the Montclair Public Library in lieu of flowers (50 South Fullerton Avenue Montclair, NJ 07042).
