Anne Grady (née Ruane), 85, of Verona (formerly of Upper Montclair) died at home on Sunday, September 27, 2015. Born and raised in Jersey City, Anne earned a BA degree from Caldwell College. She married Bill Grady in 1956, moved to Upper Montclair in 1967 and raised six daughters. Anne was a long time parishioner of St. Cassian’s Church. She had a passion for teaching and held various jobs at St. Aloysius Academy, Lacordaire Academy and Katharine Gibbs School. Anne will be remembered for her broad smile and infectious laugh, as well as her devotion to her faith, family and friends, and her love for bridge and casinos. She is survived by her six daughters, Mary Tuites of Clifton, Annemarie of Bloomfield, Cathy of Cedar Grove, Susan FitzSimons of Verona, Terri of Montclair, and Jane of Clifton, and her five grandchildren, Kevin and Michael Tuites, Jessica Grady, Aidan and Grady FitzSimons, and sons-in-law, James Tuites and Sean FitzSimons. She was predeceased by her brothers, John Ruane, S.J., Thomas, Joseph, William, her sister Virginia Sloyan and her husband, William A Grady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lamp for Haiti Foundation, P.O. Box 39703, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
